This new version of the app is available as part of a research study conducted by Happify Health, a global software-enabled healthcare platform that develops digital therapeutics headquartered at 51 East 12th Street, Floor 5, New York, NY 10003 and Almirall, a Spanish pharmaceutical group whose parent company is addressed at Ronda del General Mitre, 151, 08022- Barcelona (Spain).

What is the purpose of this research study?

This study will explore changes in mental health and wellbeing among psoriasis patients with access to Claro, a premium version of the Happify app tailored to psoriasis. The study will also examine how people with psoriasis use Claro. Results of this study will help us decide whether to offer Claro to more psoriasis patients and determine ways we can improve the app.

What do you need to do to be in the study?

You will use the Claro (a premium version of the Happify app) and complete several 2-3 minute surveys about living with psoriasis. The surveys will become available in the app today, two days from now, and every two weeks after that. The app also includes surveys that monitor how your happiness and emotions change every two weeks. The information collected in the course of this study is referred to as “Data.”

How will your information be used and what is the legal basis?

Your Data, including your responses to in-app assessments and usage data, will be used for research to understand how people with psoriasis use and respond to the app. It will remain confidential to Happify Health and Almirall. Your Data will be password-protected and will only be used by researchers on the study team. The Data used for research will not include any identifying information (like your email address), so you will remain anonymous.

However, if you are using a medicine made by Almirall and you report any side effects or complaints, Happify Health or Almirall will review the information you reported. In this case, your identifying information may be retrieved so that a representative can contact you to ask more about your concerns in order to learn more about the safety of Almirall’s medicines.

The legal basis for the processing your Personal Data is your explicit consent.

How long will this study last and how long will your data be stored?

This study will end, meaning that we will stop collecting your Data for this purpose, on May 31, 2022. If you want to be removed from the study earlier, you can contact Happify Health at support@happify.com or simply stop using the app. Your Data will be retained until August 31, 2022 so that we can summarize the results.

What are your rights?

Even if you agree to participate in the study, you can change your mind. To withdraw consent for your Data to be used, email support@happify.com. You can read more about your rights and how your data will be protected and used in Happify's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Is this app a treatment?

This app does not offer medical advice, and it is not intended to diagnose, prevent, monitor, predict, treat, or alleviate any disease. It is not a replacement for therapy or other treatment.
